From Madagascar, this species tends to form a small shrub with numerous offsetting stems. The stems and leaves are yellow-green, and the leaves are nearly linear with small reddish teeth on the margins. The flowers are red with greenish-white tips. We find this species somewhat difficult to grow in Tucsonās heat and low humidity and it definitely is not frost hardy. These plants are seedlings in one-gallon pots.
