This species is from northwestern Namibia, where it commonly forms small, nearly prostrate shrubs with large stems. This species, which can also become an upright tree, has yellow shredding bark, revealing a yellow-bronze trunk. The light-green leaves are trifoliate. These plants are seedlings in 5-inch pots.
