From Zimbabwe and the Northern Province of South Africa, this pachycaul tree has a greatly swollen trunk and smooth bark with purple and pink splotches. The leaves are dark green and trilobate. The flowers are small, bell-shaped, and greenish-yellow. These plants are seedlings in 4-inch pots.
