This species is widespread on the Pacific Coast in western Mexico. These plants were propagated from material originally collected near San Carlos, Mexico (ON 1000). Known as Palo Blanco because of its white bark, it is a slender tree with pinnate gray-green leaves, and stout black spines. The flowers are an off-white color and are held in catkin like strings. These plants are seedlings in 5-inch pots.
