This classic landscape plant, used extensively in Southwestern landscaping, is from central Texas and northern Coahuila, where it grows over a wide range of elevation and habitat. It forms clumps that produce splays of linear, filiferous leaves. The flowers are variable – in this case yellow – and are produced on panicles in the spring. This plant is hardy well below 20F.
