This is a coastal species from Nayarit to Oaxaca. It is a tree with exfoliating back that produces reddish-brown papery sheets exposing a bluish green surface underneath. The leaves are variable but typically have entire margines, acuminate tips, and a light green surface that is a little hairy on the underside. These plants are rooted cuttings in one-gallon pots.
