This species is a shrub to short tree that is native to Cuba and the Bahamas. It has thorny branches bearing numerous short oblanceolate leaves that are light green in color. The flowers are large pendulous trumpet flowers with a pale-yellow to green color. It is supposed to be able to take the amount of freezing that occurs in the Tucson basin. These plants are rooted offsets in 5-inch pots.
