This cactus is from the cape region of Baja California, Mexico. It forms a tangled mass of spiny stems the diameter of a thumb that are yellow-green with whitish spines. The flowers are red-orange and borne near the stem tips. We can call this the upside-down cactus since we planted it through the bottom of an 8-inch pot to simulate the plants native habitat of hanging on cliff faces. These plants are rooted cuttings in 8-inch pots.
