This species is known as the Sonoran persimmon and grows in northwestern Mexico in the Sonoran Desert. The leaves are oblanceolate and pointed with a light green central vein. The flowers are small and rich with nectar, and the plants are dioecious. The fruit is edible. These plants are seedlings in one-gallon pots.
