From the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, this variety has leaves less crinkled than the typical species. It has a restricted distribution on bedrock and is uncommon. Like the typical species, these plants have fibrous roots on the above-ground parts of the stem. These plants are rooted offsets in 4-inch pots.
