From the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, notably the Bavianskloof west of Humansdorf, this small plant has roots with fibrous roots that appear to be a red mat on the stem. The leaves are cylindrical, light green, and held on long pedicels. These plants are leaf offsets in 2-inch pots.
