From central Bolivia, this desert species is a large columnar cacti up to 30 feet tall. This species produces green 4-5 sided stems with dark brown-black spines borne on peg-like aureoles on the margins. The flowers are small and pinkish-white. These plants are seedlings in 2-gallon pots.
