This classic landscape plant, used extensively in the Southwest, is from central Texas and northern Coahuila, where it grows over a wide range of elevation and habitat. It forms clumps that produce splays of linear, filiferous leaves. The flowers are variable (usually red) and are produced in the spring. This plant is hardy well below 20F. These plants are seedlings in one-gallon pots.
