This species, unique in its stemmed plants, is from one locality on the south coast of the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. It is a soft-bodied species has yellow-green leaves that are relatively chunky for this group. It offsets prolifically, filling pots and forming attractive clusters. These plants are rooted offsets in 4-inch pots.
