This formerly recognized subspecies is in some weird way a transition to Haworthia magnifica and (or) H. retusa. Bayer (1999) puts it into H. mirabilis var. mirabilis and states that it is from near Bredasdorp in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. It certainly is a proliferous plant, forming clumps with time. The rosettes are rooted offsets in 4-inch pots.
