Haworthia herbacea comes from the Western Cape Province of South Africa. Variety payneri is smaller than the typical plants and is scabrid with whitish marginal leaf spines. The upper flowers tend to be pinkish, unlike the typical species. These plants are seedlings in 3-inch pots.
