This mat-forming species is from the Klein Karoo in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. Some consider this synonymous with G. surrectum, but it is a relatively small form. The leaves are bright green with slightly pointed tips. The flowers are large, yellow, and showy. These plants are seedlings in 4-inch pots.
