Pleiospilos nelii is one of the most desirable of the mesembs for succulent plant collectors because of its beautiful “split-rock” form. The plant has a rather narrow distribution in the Western and Eastern Cape Provinces of South Africa, mostly north of Willowmore and south of Graaff-Reinet. The paired leaves are mostly gray-brown with dense dark spots. These plants are seedlings in 2-inch pots.
