This species is a tree from the southwestern part of Madagascar. It has a stem with bark that produces spineless green stems that form a dense mass when the plant gets mature. Although this species is very similar to E. tirucalli, it can take some frost outside in Tucson. These plants are rooted cuttings in one-gallon pots.
