Dorstenia buchananii from southeastern Africa. It has green obovate leaves produced on gray-green stems, and it is rhizomatous. The flowers (hypanthium) are shield-shaped with long appendages, and the long peduncles referred to in the varietal name support the hypanthium. These plants are seedlings in 2-inch pots.
