This species is from a broad area of tropical East Africa. We suspect that this is var. schlechteri because it has more slender stems and seem to grow taller than the typical species. Those stems are light green and bear obovate leaves that are distinctively crisped. The cyathia are circular with long marginal appendages. These plants are seedlings in 5-inch pots.
