From north-central Tanzania, this geophyte has a large, knobby base barely protruding from the ground. The stems are multibranched and produce 3-5 lobed leaves that are notable for their conspicuous veins and overall reddish tone, which can be quite vivid in some individuals. The grapes of this species are edible. These plants are seedlings in 4-inch pots.
