This species is from southern Malawi, and these plants are propagated from material originally collected by Dave Richards (R1734). Once known as Super Bat, it has a brownish green color with little variegation and a channel that runs the full length of the leaf. The capitate flowers arise from the roots and are purplish-white. These plants are rooted offsets in 5-gallon pots.
