This spiny shrub or short tree has a wide range from Yemen down through the length of East Africa. The trunk has shredding bark and the exudate can be aromatic. The leaf size and shape is highly variable but generally the plants are trifoliate with spathulate leaves. You don’t buy Commiphora for the flowers. These plants are seedlings in one-gallon pots.
