From the Western Cape Province of South Africa, this species is a dwarf shrub that is hardly succulent. The leaves superficially resemble those of coriander but have pink-purple tones, particularly when stressed. The flowers are white with reddish-purple highlights. These plants are seedlings in one-gallon pots.
