This is an unknown species of Hechtia from Mexico, and it might be a new species. When young, the leaves are gray-green and very spiny, but with age these plants attain a reddish-green leaf in full sun, which makes for extremely attractive, offsetting plants. These plants are seedlings in 8-inch pots.
