This species is one of the largest broad-leaf plants in the genus. It was collected from the eastern side of Lake Victoria in western Kenya. The leaves are dark green with numerous lineations running their length. The inflorescences are relatively short and this species tends to flower annually or biannually. These plants are rooted offsets in one-gallon pots.
