This beautiful shrubby species is from northern Namibia and probably extends into Angola. These plants are from material originally collected on the road north of Palmwag, Namibia. Its stems are blue-green in color with nice variegation on the stems, and the 4-6 flutes that typically form are lined with paired spines. The cyathia are yellow. Unlike the typical species, this form is a larger shrub, and its seed capsules bear 3-5 seeds that are easily 2-3 times larger than the typical, which is probably sufficient to describe this as a new species. These plants are seedlings in one-gallon pots.
