This species is widely distributed in southern Africa. It forms a nice caudex and sends up annual to biennial vines bearing palmate leaves. This dioecious species has yellow flowers on both sexes. The fruit, like many similar cucurbits, is red. These plants are seedlings in 3-inch pots.
