This beautiful shrubby species is from northern Namibia and probably extends into Angola. These plants are from material originally collected in the vicinity of Palmwag, Namibia. Its stems are blue-green in color with nice variegation on the stems, and the 4-6 flutes that typically form are lined with paired spines. The cyathia are yellow. Unlike the typical species, this form is a larger shrub, and its seed capsules bear 3-5 seeds that are easily 2-3 times larger than the typical, which is probably sufficient to describe this as a new species. These plants are seedlings in 5-inch pots.
