This tree species is native to the mountains of Sonora, Mexico. The leaves are gray-green and deeply channeled, and their long narrow form tends to recurve downwards. The flowers are, as the epithet suggests, grand: large, white, and held in a relatively tall panicle. This species is hardy in Tucson. These plants are seedlings in 2-gallon pots.
