From San Luis Potosi, Mexico, this species is part of the highly variable Turbinicarpus schmiedickeanus complex. It has more of a dark blue-green globose body than does T. schmiedickeanus. The flowers are white to yellow. These tiny plants are seedlings in 2-inch pots.
