One of the most popular of the Ariocarpus, these plants have triangular, gray-green leaves. The older leaves tend to press against the ground surface, although the center of the rosette may rise slightly. The tips of the leaves of this once species tend to have areoles. The flowers typically are light to bright yellow. The species is from a broad area of north-central Mexico. These plants are seedlings in 4-inch pots.
