This species supposedly has been lumped into the genus Eriocyce, but we will continue to use Neochilenia. This beautiful species, from the central coastal part of Atacama Desert of Chile, has a dark brown-green body with white spines and white wool on the areoles. The flowers are pinkish-red. These plants are seedlings in 4-inch pots.
