This little cactus is from the northeastern states of Mexico. It forms a low clump with spiny stems about ¾-1 inch in diameter. Whats great about this species is the extremely large flowers with purple petals and a yellow center. We’ve grown this species outside in Tucson for many years where it has taken the low 20s with little or no damage. These plants are rooted cuttings in one-gallon pots.
