This small globose species is from Uruguay and Brazil, and some consider this to be a subspecies of Parodia mueller-melchersii. It is a solitary species with a medium green body covered with yellowish-brown spines. The flowers are yellow to reddish. These plants are seedlings in one-gallon pots.
