Hamatocactus davisii is a slow-growing, globose cactus native to northeastern Mexico. Some put this into the genus Ferocactus. It has a dark green body with tubercles and long, reddish hooked spines. The flowers are large and pale yellow to white. These plants are seedlings in 5-inch pots.
