This species supposedly belongs under Eriocyce, but we do not accept that revision. In that genus, it is called Eriosyce taltalensis subs. paucicostata, but these plants do not look like that species. This beautiful dark bluish-green species, from the Atacama Desert of Chile, has brown to black straight spines body. The flowers are pinkish white. These plants are seedlings in 4-inch pots.
