This is "an imperfectly known" species from southeastern Tanzania. It is acaulescent, with green leaves bearing lineations, recurved marginal teeth, and a reddish margin and tip. It has orange-red flowers held in a simple inflorescence. The key characteristic of this species are the floral bracts, which are large and reddish. These plants are seedlings in5-inch pots.
