This rare species comes from one locality near the Sea of Cortez near Guaymas, Sonora. It looks like a cross between a typical club cholla and a cholla, with long, relatively thin stems and reflexed spines. The flowers are yellow. These plants are rooted cuttings in 5-inch pots.
