Cylindropuntia fulgida is perhaps the most common cholla in the Sonoran Desert. Its common name is Jumping Cholla even though it just seems to jump at you. Variety mammillita has fewer spines, and these plants are monstrose, forming crests and other deformities. These plants are rooted cuttings in 3-inch pots.
