This sparsely branching shrub is from West Africa, where it generally grows on rocky slopes. It doesnt always have a single spine from the shallow tubercles, as the name indicates, but it isnt as spiny as some of its cousins. The cyathia are red. These plants are seedlings in 4-inch pots.
