From Madagascar, this species obviously grows mainly on quartzite. That is unlikely to affect its cultivation, however, and it differs from the typical Aloe capitata with the dark blue-green leaves that are quite fleshy and bearing tubercles on the lower side. The flowers are orange-red. These plants are seedlings in 4-inch pots.
