This is part of a highly variable species complex termed a “taxonomic nightmare” and that starts with Stenocactus crispatus. Echinofossulocactus dichroacanthus is from south-central Mexico, generally east of the Sierra Madre. The globose stem has wavy ridges in the body. The flowers are purplish white. We have seedlings in 2-inch pots.
