This species, which now is lumped under Stenocactus vaupelianus, is from Hidalgo, Mexico. An upright species with a more-or-less cylindrical body, the plants have an overall white appearance owing to numerous white, whisker-like spines. The flowers are yellow. These plants are seedlings in 2-inch pots.
