This species supposedly has been lumped into the genus Eriocyce, but we will continue to use Neochilenia. This beautiful species, from the central coastal part of Atacama Desert of Chile, has a dark blue-green body with long black spines and dense white wool near the apex. The flowers are yellow and tinged with pinkish-red. These plants are seedlings in 4-inch pots.
