From the central Atacama Desert of Chile, this species typically looks really beat up, which mirrors what its appearance is in the wild. The gray-brown body has an attractive draping of whitish wool around the areoles. As usual, the flowers are yellow and relatively large. Our plants have taken 18 F with minor damage. These plants are seedlings in 2-inch pots.
