This little cactus is from the northeastern states of Mexico. It forms a low clump with spiny stems about ¾-1 inch in diameter. Whats great about this species is the extremely large flowers with purple petals and a yellow center. We’ve grown this species outside in Tucson for many years where it has taken the low 20s with little or no damage. These plants are rooted cuttings in 8-inch pots.
