This species grows in rocky substrate in eastern Kenya This medium-sized acaulescent aloe is related to A. secundiflora but differs in its non-glossy leaves that can be gray green or even purple-green in full sun. The flowers are non-secund and typically yellow but red ones do occur. These plants are seedlings in 4-inch pots.
