From near Jansenville, Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, this bulb is an interesting addition to any collection. We do not yet accept the recent move of this genus into Drimia. Like the related genus Bowiea, Schizobasis has no true leaves as an adult plant. The green epidermis of the finely divided inflorescence takes over photosynthesis. Unlike Bowiea, the inflorescence is above the bulb is like a beautiful fine green mist. These plants are rooted offsets in 2-inch pots.
